Self-care is trending all the time these days. Everyone and their cat talks about self-care. I can barely cream my face in the morning, but this is another blog post that I don’t know much about but let’s get into a very basic guide to self-care.
It is the last month of the year and you cannot come and kill yourself for being salty about something that happened in 2012. That was a whole 6 years ago, try to go into the new year with less grudges and annoyances. Forgive people, actions that have been done cause not everyone is as saucy as you.
It is probably dark when you wake up and dark when you come home which isn’t really cute. Having some positive affirmations or quotes to read before the start of the day and or pick me up at lunch can really boost up your mood #youarefabolous
With Christmas approaching and all that stuff, it is very easy to focus on what you don’t have but believe me you are blessed. Family, friends, bae, a Christmas tree, a roof over your head, food, no financial worries – there are a lot of things you can be grateful for.
At this time of the year, you are probably colder than ever, and a bath is something that you entertain more than usual. Get a bath bomb or epsom salts and mandem you can get them too and henjoy your bath. It is lit, you will warm up and thank me later.
Get some great skin care sets, drink water or get some lotions and get to creaming. Your body cannot be looking like a floured chicken leg just before it hits the oil. There is no excuse for not creaming and looking like Saltfish. Lotion your damn body and dry lips are never a look. Get out the lip balm.
Need I say anymore.
Become a barista in your home
Hot drinks are in for this season and it is not everyday you are in the line at Starbucks at 7.40am buying a latte that costs £5.00 every day. Bun that, get a coffee machine and pods from Amazon or B&M and enjoy a coffee, tea or hot chocolate in your warm yard.
Stock up on your medicines
Colds, flu and maybe even rabies are active this time of year. On sight is on sight. Don’t be that person sneezing in Wilkos buying the last box of Cold and Flu medicine. Get the Flu jab and stock up in advance and get some First Defence so when you feel a sneeze, you are protected. Also get some Vitamin D tablets (the good kind) as the sun is nowhere to be seen and it can affect your energy levels.
Take things easier in Winter, it is not everyday run around and be in some shopping centre, take some time out, date (yourself and others), read a book, listen to a podcast, have a Netflix marathon, write, draw, paint, cook, gym, socialise but don’t stress yourself too much. Get your mental right!
Pattern your finances
Most people get paid early in December and those wages need to last a whole 5 weeks until the end of January which is mad long. Read my post on January payday here but you need your money to last (save and don’t get gassed by the sales – they are sales all time of year, only buy what you need. If you can buy your Christmas presents with November’s wages and then December wages need to hibernate and come back for the new year.
